I’m Steve Pritchard, Managing Director of It Works Media Ltd, a search marketing agency based in Leeds

We employ six people and work with a variety of fantastic clients within the retail and travel sectors, helping them to increase their website traffic and sales.

The coronavirus directly impacted out travel clients, with many reducing their marketing activity within a short period of time in early March. This meant that a significant amount of our work was reduced which directly impacted the short term viability of the business. Though we were reluctant to take on any debt during the crisis, the government bounce back loan scheme was the perfect solution for us. We applied for the bounce back loan through Barclays and were successful in securing the funds within 48 hours of the scheme being open.

The money will be invested in employing an experienced new business manager to help develop our long term strategy and secure a new client base so we can continue to support our existing clients and grow the business in 2020 and beyond.

Boris Johnson and his government are doing a great job during this crisis. Putting in place such financial program is very complexe and requires time. Boris Johnson team did it in a record short time. I can only say congratulations to them.

I really needed financial support during the lock down the amount of outgoings even with staff getting Furlough was crippling. I applied to The Nat-West for the
BBL and they where fantastic it was simple to apply for & when i rang to ask a question they where helpful and understanding. This money has taken some of the stress away at least from a business point of view for the moment any way and given me at least a choice as to how to move forward, a big thank you to the PM.

I have a business account with a bank that isnt allowed to issue bank back loans .. due to poor credit i had to bank with them to have a business account ...to receive a bounce back loan i have to open up another business account .. my personal credit prevents most banks giving me a business account .. therefore there is no option for a bounceback loan or the ability to work .. thus scheme favoured certain banks and the banks are not awarding them to new customers.. for me its an entitlement ihavent been entitled too
