Tim Hughes (Managing Director, CHH Connex):
Since the COVID-19 emergency began, the social isolation measures have resulted in a drastic reduction in demand for our non-critical work, as the role of service engineers has focused on emergency repairs and maintenance.
We've had to furlough a significant number of our team, and we've found the business support offered by the government to be a massive help as we navigate our way through these difficult times.
At CHH we have taken advantage of several of the business support schemes made available by the government. The Statutory Sick Pay arrangements have supported our employees needing to self-isolate. The job retention, or furlough scheme, has enabled us to preserve CHH jobs, and the VAT deferral scheme has freed up vital cashflow right now, to assist our plan for the next three months.
We can, and we will, overcome this difficult time if we all work together, if we all support each other, and if we all play our part.
Business support has been a lifeline to CHH. I'm sure it can provide help and support to your business too.
